Installed windows 8, windows 7 will not boot.

Ok so attempted to install windows 8 a few times but was getting errors, I proceeded to burn at a slower speed. I partitioned my hard drive (first time doing so) and labeled it G. I gave up on windows 8 after it gave me some trouble and tried booting back into 7. I kept getting bootmgr was missing so I tried installing windows 8 again. This time I got it to work. I went into to disk management to check things out and I noticed my Windows 7 Allocated space was not bootable. Here is a screen shot.

    Did I do something wrong?

That message usually indicates a corrupt boot sector, so you might want to consider running a repair from your Windows 7 DVD. You can try either the automated 'Repair' option or use the command line Bootrec /RebuildBcd. I think Bootrec /fixboot may also work.

Where is the automated repair at? After the computer posts correct? I don't get an option to repair. When I attempt the command lines in cmd, Is says its not a valid command. See which is weird because the computer was working just fine before I tried installing windows 8. I'll give the repair a shot and see what happens.

You'll need to boot from your Windows 7 DVD to access the repair options.

Or if you created the Win 7 Repair Disk as you should have the Repair Options will be there. In fact the time I corrupted my MBR, when I booted to the Repair Disk it noticed the corrupted MBR and repaired it without going into repair options. Neat.

Have a look at this - maybe you can fix it that way. Would be easier. Recovering the Windows Bootloader from the DVD - EasyBCD - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki
