Solved EFI BIOS not working

Alright everyone, got a new problem!

I'm currently upgrading a PC from Windows 7 to 8.1.1. That in itself isn't the issue, but getting it to run with EFI BIOS. The motherboard is about three years old and just updated the BIOS version. It has UEFI BIOS, recognizes UEFI flash drives, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why it's not installing Windows with GPT partitioning and EFI extensions!

I'm installing a 64 bit version of Windows, BIOS versions are at their defaults. There are no options for CSM or Secure Boot as it's an older motherboard. I'm guessing it's not UEFI 2.0+, as that's why Windows 8 isn't installing as such.

That did kind of help, some comments mentioned how even macs didn't have UEFI 2 on some early model from 2011 and late 2010. It seems the motherboard doesn't support UEFI BIOS v 2.0 or higher, therefore Windows 8.1 doesn't install as such even though the USB drive will be detected as a UEFI device.

Yup. I just installed 8.1 x64 on a 2006 MacBook Pro and I had to use mbr as the UEFI I have is 32 bit.

Well, at least you can always install it without UEFI.

Yea I have 2 similar MB they will run a GPT data disk, but I can't install a OS UEFI GPT disk
