Hello,
I've tried to upgrade from windows 8 to windows 8.1, but it didn't work. all the steps of downloading and installing through Windows store went well, until the computer restarted and was configuring things then a blue screen appeared showing that the computer ran into a problem, then the procedure to go back to windows 8 started.
I'm now working with windows 8. my computer came with windows 8.

Make sure you have all the latest updates for W8....Before trying to install W8.1 from the store.

I've run a check for Windows Update earlier today, and have found that I should install only one update (KB2993651)
I don't usually read about the updates, but I accidently googled about it and found it is released to fix a patch or such like (I can't understand that well), but some users says that it causes them reboot or startup issues (like BSOD and that what happened to me when I tried to install Windows 8.1), fortunately for me it doesn't.
what is more, Microsoft strongly recommends removing a previous update which is KB2982791 right after installing KB2993651, for me I installed the latest without removing that KB2982791 without any issues.

shall I just run a check to make sure that there are no more updates left? or I should wait for specific ones?

When I upgraded to 8.1 Pro I was using a Microsoft account, not a local account.
The transition went smoothly.
Just a thought. :)
