HELP is appreciated.

I had a SSD hdd die completely. I was given a used SSD hdd that was formatted.
Drive 0 Partition 1: System Reserved 100.0 MB 86.0 MB Free System
Drive 0 Partition 2: 55.8 MB 55.7 MB Free Primary

When I try to install to Partition 2
It says: Windows can't be installed to Drive 0 partition 2. (show details)
After I click that I get a 'Windows Setup' popout that says
Windows cannot be installed to this disc. The selected disk has an MBR
Partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.

I formatted the SSD again. I get the same popout.

  1. Admin command prompt->diskpart
  2. list disk
  3. select disk # where # is your SSD
  4. clean
  5. Install Windows. You need not to create partition or format, just select custom and select the disk, Windows will initialize it as GPT disk.

OK. Do you have the recovery disk ? if so, use it. If not, download: Macrium WinPE .iso - OneDrive
then boot it up. On the bottom left corner, there is a command prompt, use it to run diskpart.

EDIT: You can also create a recovery disk from the PC you are using now to post.

EDIT1: Forgot to mention, you can also boot up the Windows Installation DVD. On the first screen, Hold down SHIFT key and press F10 will also give you the command prompt.
