Needing assistance dual booting Windows 7 on Windows 8.1.

I'm having some trouble dual booting Windows 7 ultimate on my current OS Windows 8.1. I have the installation CD in my desktops dvd drive. I reboot and go in the BIOS and I don't see the option to boot from CD. My BIOS is this.

This is my computer: Desktops - M51AC - ASUS

All I see listed is my internal hard drive on my computer which boots my Windows 8.1 OS. I tried enabling CMS and it shows my DVD drive but when I boot it goes to a blackscreen and flickers like its restarting itself. I tried with a USB same thing. Could someone help me out please? It would be very appreciated thank-you.

If you want to install Windows 7, you must disable Secure Boot, because it is not compatible with Windows 7.

Here is info about Legacy BIOS Boot Mode (installing using the MBR partition style) and UEFI Boot Mode (installing using the GPT partition style): LINK

edit: The Asus motherboard UEFI firmware (BIOS) settings. -> link

CSM (Compatibility Support Module) > Launch CSM
    - [Auto]: The system automatically detects the bootable devices and the add-on devices.
    - [Enabled]: For better compatibility, enable the CSM to fully support the non-UEFI driver add-on devices or the Windows UEFI mode.
    - [Disabled]: Disable the CSM to fully support the Windows Security Update and Security Boot.

    Secure Boot > OS Type
    - [Windows UEFI Mode]: Execute the Microsoft Secure Boot check. Only select this option when booting on Windows UEFI mode or other Microsoft Secure Boot compliant OS.
    - [Other OS]: Get the optimized function when booting on Windows non-UEFI mode, Windows Vista/XP, or other Microsoft Secure Boot non-compliant OS.

You need to select to boot from the UEFI type (marked UEFI in the boot menu) if you want to install Windows 7/8 64-bit in UEFI boot mode (see screenshot below).

I still cannot see my DVD or USB or any other drives when doing that.

    3. How to create UEFI Boot Mode compatible Windows 7/8 64-bit USB flash drive, which is only bootable in UEFI Boot Mode?

    - Download and run the Rufus program.
    - Connect your USB flash drive.
    - Click on the browse icon and select your Windows 7/8 64-bit ISO image file.
    - Under Partition scheme and target system type, select GPT partition scheme for UEFI Computer
    - Under File system, select FAT32

If you don't have Windows 7 64-bit ISO image.

Create UEFI boot mode compatible Windows 7 64-bit USB flash drive with the Rufus program.

How to choose desired Windows 7 version during setup?
    - Delete the ei.cfg file from the sources folder.
When ei.cfg is deleted, Windows 7 setup wizard will give user an option to select and choose which version of operating system user wants to install during installation.

Just to confirm, if you have the original Windows 7 DVD install media, it does not work well on newer systems for UEFI installs. You need the SP1 version.

Why not just boot to Windows 8, and the Start VMWARE and install Windows 7 in a virtual device? Then you can run Windows 8 and Windows 7 side by side. I think it would be easier than what you are attempting to do. Anyway, my 2 cents worth.
