Win 8.1 ISO from Microsoft Store includes Update1?

I bought a Win 8.1 standard license from the Microsoft Store a few months ago and downloaded the ISO. I am now doing a clean install and want to make sure the ISO from which I do the install already has Update1 built into it.

If I re-download the ISO from Microsoft using my product key, will the current ISO have Update1 built in? Or will I still have to get the update from Windows Update after installation? Thanks.

Open the ISO with 7-zip - extract DISM.exe from the sources folder.

Check properties ...if under details it says Version: 6.3.9600.17031 - you have update 1.

You can just mount it in Windows 8 without having to use 7-zip. ;) Then just use file explorer to browse to the file in question like it was a real DVD.

Awesome, mine is the version you listed, so I guess it has Update1 built in.

So for the record, the ISO you download direct from Microsoft using a pre-purchased Windows 8.1 key now officially has Update1 built in (and probably has for weeks or even months), in case anybody was wondering.

It's a nice feature. I can for instance mount my MSDN Office 2013 ISO and install office just like I had inserted an actual DVD. It shows up as a virtual DVD drive. Or, just copy all the files to a thumb drive and use that for installs on multiple PC's without having to burn a disk. When your done you just right click and eject.

It is of some use, not much though. You can do the same with free wincdemu or pismo in other windows os. Makes no difference to me as I need the more advanced features of an isohandler anyhow. Winiso, poweriso, gburner, ultraiso, they all seem good.
