Hi guys,
My lappy LENOVO G50-70 came with pre-installed win 8.1 but the OS crashed,
I did not take any backup/recovery disks so i have installed win 8 and then updated it to win 8.1,

The product key was automatically detected and now iam fine with it.
Is there any way i can make the recovery disks including updates?
If i wipe the whole disk and reinstall again it should be win 8.1 with updates??

Thanks in advance:)

Regards,

Yes, you can backup your system with an imaging software.

I use AOMEI Backupper. Free Download AOMEI Backupper Standard: Windows Backup & Cloning Software

The screenshots below are self-explanatory with the image backed up to an external HDD I:

( I have a dual boot Win7 and W8 and so both will be backed up. In your case it will show only C: Win 8)

Before you start backup, go to Backup Options where you can write an annotation of that backup. (Leave other settings at default)

You also need to create a Recovery Disk/pendrive to boot and run the backupper in case your system won't boot into Windows.

Go to Utilities > Create Bootable media and create Windows PE CD or USB pendrive. ( You can also create an ISO and write that bootable ISO to a pendrive using RUFUS or write it to a CD later but do make it first and keep it safely)

Yes of course. That is what it is intended for.

As for as the Recovery Media is concerned, personally, I would recommend that you create a WinPE ISO and keep it safely on an external drive. Write a bootable Recovery CD with that ISO and use it when you want to restore the system. Do not lock a 4 GB pendrive for a less than 700MB bootable ISO.

Macrium Reflect also works at backing up your Windows 8/8.1 system image and allows you to restore it from a bootable USB key.

Just giving you another option. The FREE version of Macrium is all you need.
