I have a sony vaio sve14a35cxh that I'm trying to install back to windows 8 as it was originally pre-installed with.
I have the boot mode set to legacy
now when it asks where I want to install windows, theres a message saying
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
There is no enable/disable disk controller in my BIOS menu at all. I tried to convert the entire drive to GPT and that didn't work.
I have no IDEA what I'm doing. Do I convert my entire drive to MBR or GPT and after installing the OS, do I use UEFI instead of LEGACY?
I am installing windows 8 on a USB drive.
