I have an HP laptop with 8.1 uefi embedded key.
I have a one TB hd to work with.
I want to format from scratch and run a mbr based multiboot pc

I am confused by the uefi and partitioning.
Can I run windows 8 in a non GPT formatted HDD and utilize the OEM Key?
Has anyone successfully done a multiboot like this going all the way back to vista on an oem laptop? If so what did you have to do to get around the OEM garbage?

If you have an HP Laptop that is running Windows 8.1 AND you have a 1 TB hard drive to work with THEN you need to run VMWARE or SUN Virtual Box AND run all of the different OS's you want in a virtual environment AND they can all talk to each other.

Way better than trying to go backwards with your current hardware. My 2 cents.

I wish it was that simple. They are developing a hardware device that uses serial ports. The engineers don't trust the vm's enough to develop drivers on them. At this point i am considering using usb masking as hd's to run the OS's which isn't elegant.
