    Back up your DATA,
Use Diskpart to clean your disk, Clean install win 8.1 64 bit

If you mean not losing anything, that's not possible because you can't do an in-place "upgrade" from 32-bit to 64-bit; instead, you have to do a clean install.

So, while you can certainly back up your data, you will end up losing everything you have installed in the 32-bit setup as you will have to do the installs all over again.

Yea, many folks don't understand you can back up the data and even games but then you will have to re-install the program/game and then copy the old data over the top of the re-install if wanting to get back totally as it was. The registry thing gets in the way especially if changing OS which what is happening switching from 32-bit to 64-bit.

If you're going from 32 to 64 it is best to wipe the whole drive and all partitions with something like Partition Master. Start from scratch installing 64-bit.

Do you have bootable 64-bit ISO disc or usb? Make sure you have all that setup first.

You should not have to use any third party partition manager. You can delete, create, format partitions during installation:

Yea, I'm stuck in the old days with wiping stuff. Now Windows gives you more options.
