Installing W8 on a Ubuntu 64 bit machine!

  1. #11

Hello and thanks to all that have responded! It is now running. Don't have a clue how to use it, but it is running. It is noticeably faster than the Ubuntu 64 bit that was on it. Where are the tutorials on how to find the control panel {:-))!

Point at bottom left where the start screen preview shows, then right click.

Ohhh just wait until you find the charms way to get there. So awesome!

    /sarcasm off

    You're welcome.

    Howdy Gman,
Loads of laughs today. Got myself stuck in and endless loop of safe booting into cmd.exe. Finally figured out how to get back to normal boot. Booted, neither account would run...... Did a refresh, same results. Did a fresh install and added a few of my normal programs and decided to run the sfc /scannow, figuring it should work. Nope, corrupt files. Found control panel and lots of neat stuff. Makes the old box run fast, but.......
    L8tr and again thanks!

Been running two days without having to reinstall! sfc /scannow is giving me the thumbs up sign, I run it after every to me dodgy operation! Of course I am cleaning the trash out with the windows explorer > right click on C: drive and open properties > use built in disk cleaner. Using diskdefrag just pops up a cmd.exe box with something in it and disappears in a second!!! I am afraid to use my favorite CCleaner.... as I might delete something necessary. The remove program in Control Panel works about as good as in W7, the reason I purchased Revo Uninstaller Pro. Also am using on old 14" Sylvania monitor which doesn't help. But hey it runs pretty fast. Thanks again to all who helped!
