Hi CunC and welcome to 8 forums! Not sure what you are asking. You can not use the 8 bootmgfw.efi file to boot and install 8 on your Zennbook if that is what you are trying to do.

Hello Cun, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Your post was moved here from that tutorial since it was unrelated to the tutorial itself, and so that you can get better help.

Please go ahead and continue in this thread. :)

You must use the USB 2.0 port, if you install Windows 7 from USB flash drive and receive the following error message: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.

I tried this 2 drivers from Intel "USB 3.0 Driver Intel 7 Series C216 Chipset 1.0.10.255" and "USB 3.0 Driver Intel 8 Series C220 Chipset 2.5.3.34" when the message appears but it didn't work ! (I tried all folder in "drivers")

An other idea ?

Asus UX31A Fresh Install Guide - Page 10

For those with Bios 219, the following solution fixed the CD-DVD driver error for me:

0.) Use X17-58997.iso to create bootable Windows installation USB with Windows USB DVD Download Tool.
1.) Press F2 on boot to enter BIOS console.
2.) Press F9 to restore Optimized Defaults. Ensure that under the Advanced tab -> USB Configuration, the XHCI Pre-Boot Mode is set to Auto, NOT Enabled. This setting was preventing the Windows installation program from recognizing input to the USB 3.0 ports.

Sorry I continue to write on this post because others writings disappear...

I have the same error using "X17-59009.iso", "Bios 209" and choosing "auto smart"

Is it possible the problem appear because I choose the french iso of Windows 7 ?

Thank genet for your answer !
1. I was already in Legacy Bios Boot Mode
I use this tuto (option 2) to create my bootable Windows 7
2. I have already updated my bios
3. I did everything in the link except deleting all partition (on the language screen, press SHIFT+F10 to...") because if I can't reinstall Windows 7 (and my backup of the recovery partition doesn't work) I could not use my computer

For error message boot, I restored the BIOS default values then:
___"Boot" : "Fast Boot" -> Disabled
__________"Launch CSM" -> Enabled
___"Security Secure/Boot Menu" : "Secure Boot Control" -> Disabled
* let others defaults, this what created me an error!

For error CD / DVD driver:
___On the Intel website Download Drivers "USB 3.0 Driver: Intel ® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Intel ® Chipset Family Series/C220 8"
___During Installation uncheck "Hide drivers that are not compatible ..."
___In the folder "Drivers/xHCI/Win7/x64" chose the first "extensible Host Controller Intel (R) USB 3.0"

For information on the Asus site for UX302LG all Windows 8 drivers are compatible with Windows 7

Thank you all for your help!
