Receiving VHD_BOOT_INITIALIZATION_FAILED error when trying to boot

Hey, I've been trying to install Windows 8 Consumer Preview for days now. I've followed countless tutorials on how to install it correctly and the farthest I have gotten is to to the boot screen where it says the VHD_BOOT_INITIALIZATION_FAILED error. I have searched forums for a solution but most of them keep telling me to follow another tutorial, which I have already done. If anyone can help me solve this, I will be grateful.

Hi,

Please give us a little more information about what you're trying to do. That error should only be possible in a scenario which I am guessing you do not want. What I am guessing is that you just want to install Windows 8 normally and have it work.

First thing is first. You'll need the .iso - Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO formats

Once downloaded, you can http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...e-usb-dvd-windows-8-consumer-preview-iso.html

Then boot to the USB key or DVD and begin to install.

If you already did this and it is failing, remove the USB key when it reboots the first time.

If this is happening from the DVD, make sure there are no external storage devices attached at all, like USB key or USB HDD.

Hey, I've downloaded the .iso, burned it to a DVD, and I believe that it is successfully installed in a VHD. However, it won't boot when I start the computer, it just gives that blue screen with the Sad Smilley and the error message.
