Supefly I'll wait here for you to tell me.

I completed the Windows Updates for Windows 8. And I stopped and am waiting.

Because if we'll try something to get windows 7 running, then I don't want to waste time doing things on windows 8 now which will get deleted after we try and succeed or fail at getting windows 7 to run..

So just let me know what you want me to do so that I can do it.

    Up to you.

As you have gone this far, you should make an image of 8 and store the image on an external drive. It is better to use a free 3rd party tool.

I use Aomei Backupper mostly, I also have paragon, which is very good, but macrium and others will also be fine. You will be able to restore that image any time in future.

I think Superfly may be right about the secure boot thing. You probably can install 7 ( you will need a license to activate it ) . Worth a go. You will have the image of 8, anyway.

If you are using aomei, select system backup, the others have something similar also

I have already saved the ISO of Windows 8 on my external hard disc, of course, it was the first thing I did after mounting the ISO on the USB and installing Windows 8 on my lap top.

Alright, I'll stick to Windows 8 for now, and I'll try to make it look and function as Windows 7.

If in a few days/week I decide Windows 8 doesn't work for me, then we can try to get Windows 7 running now that we apparently have a solution in mind...

Better to have an image after you have done all the updates. Then whatever os you are using, make a new up to date image every now and then. Any major problems, the image goes back on in a few minutes.

I think just about everybody here makes an image at least once a month.

Ok guys, thank you, now we're moving on...

Windows 8, no Wireless internet connection.

    This is the problem:

Obviously, there are connections available, it just can't find them...

And I believe this is the actual problem:

I guess I need the drivers to make those work...

Got any advise on what to do?

Hm, I always wondered how to do that, you know, after one installs an OS and updates it and time goes by...

Thanks SIW2, I'll look into this definitely, but I have to figure out Windows 8 now. I've never used Windows 8 ever in my life, there bound to be a learning curve. And I want to finally get my New Lap Top Running, after 3 Days of struggling...
