How to switch back to windows 8 from windows 8.1

I'm pretty upset and annoyed right now

Windows kept bugging me to update to windows 8.1 so eventually I said whatever and did, but I did not expect all this to happen

It has messed up my PC, for some reason my resolution has become worse (!?!?) it says 1920x1080, but REALLY does not feel that way, especially on google chrome, where everything has become more blurry...

It has got rid of Pokki, which is WAY, WAY WAY better than the crappy windows button they have put there that just puts you back to the tiles home screen and I don't know how to get rid of it and put pokki back

-EDIT- Pokki is still there but the windows button is still there next to it, and I don't want it there 'cause it is totally useless and in the way

It has messed up Rainmeter, a customization tool I use for my desktop, everything has become worse resolution and has been moved all over the place (it took a long time to get it all in place)

I also just noticed that EVERY installed application (steam, spotify, icechat, skype etc) ALL have a lower resolution and look blurry and terrible

It has made my pc worse, and I would very much like to restore it to before I installed it and have everything working fine again, is this possible? Knowing microsoft it probably isn't, but I REALLY hope there is some way

did you check for win8.1 driver for you video device ,check manufacturers website.
maybe win7 would be best for you seeing how you have the new features of win8

I suggest that in the future you use Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download {free or paid} to backup your system.

When I had to reinstall Windows 8 Pro I had my Product Key for it.

edit--- I don't remember exactly but when I got 8.1 Pro I had to update 7 or 17 drivers.
My graphic driver among them.

too much hassle to switch back to 8.0 (as I expected from microsoft)

Installed a bunch of drivers but they did nothing

here is what I have done, since my display is a high DPI or whatever I set it to change the size of all items (to 115%) this seems to be as close as I can get to what it was before, it was auto set to 125% btw.

Just spent a good hour or so trying to get all my rainmeter stuff back to what it was before, it is OK now

Some things are still a strange resolution, such as some items on the taskbar (wifi, battery and volume icons are annoyingly small)

Can't get rid of the new windows corner icon sadly, thats just microsoft being microsoft, I liked it as it was before and just had Pokki there instead.

Well this will help with that issue WinAero: StartIsGone for Windows 8.1

It is pretty pointless really. It is good thinkgs seem to be improving

I use it - my laptop is small so I like the extra space on the taskbar. If I want to I just press the :winkey: key

The WinAero developments are quite well respected here.

I hear yah, there getting almost as bad a Apple , I got a used MacBook I paid almost 300.00 cdn for last year,and it wont run os 10.7[only 10.6.8] I need to by a newer one to run os 10.7 lol
