It's been a while since I dual booted 7 and 8 but I seem to remember seeing the old style boot menu if 7 was set as the default OS. If you have 7 as the default when time runs out switch it to 8 and see if you get the other boot menu.

Download EasyBCD and set Windows 8 as your Primary boot. That should bring back the Metro boot managerif 8 was installed last.

You can set it in Windows without having to use any other program. Advanced system properties, startup and recovery.

I did try in Windows 7 but while it changed the boot sequence it didn't change the boot manager screen type. Maybe it was just a one off or something, I just did it with EasyBCD and it worked. Possibly just circumstance.

I think you have to actually boot into Windows 8 once for it to switch. I think you would have got it on the next boot up anyway. Either way you got what you wanted.

You have a couple of entries in your BCD store that should not be there.

The first is the bootmgr with the Display boot menu yes entry. I am not sure exactly what that does but it is not on most Dual Boots.

The Second one is the Windows 7 Ultimate loader. The Bootmenupolicy standard is not used for Windows 7.

But the part about having Windows 8 are the primary OS is necessary. And that can be done on the page you illustrate, or msconfig.exe

Maybe another BCD store listing to see its current configuration. Don't worry about the .efi entries, they will be .exe for you and the path may be different for the bootmgr.

Perhaps also confirm your configuration. Both OSes are on one hard drive and Windows 7 was loaded first?
