    Try this, download a trial of Winrar. During install, check box to handle .iso files. Open .iso with WinRAR and open the Sources folder. Double click on setup.exe, WinRAR will uncompress the iso in a temp folder and start the install. Select the partition u want to install to. Never seen this method fail...

    Did you open the Sources folder and use setup.exe in that folder? Which partition did u pick after selecting custom install?

    I open the iso file with winrar, boot, efi....... I click on setup.exe, it says get latest update, I click on 'yes', next screen it says 'this pc cannot windows 8, no enough space.

    You must double clik the Sources folder in WinRAR and then double clik the setup.exe file to get the option for a customized install...the way u tried not custom install.

    now I get to the custom install, still same error.

    I guess I must do something with the system reserved drive or bootmgr.

    for some reason your computer isn't registering the space for the volume, try giving it a name and rebooting...
