Before you tell me that booting Windows XP from EFI isn't possible; well I've done my research and that's just not true. Proof ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

Release Notes for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Setup

However, I have several problems that I desperately need help with. First off - my XP 64 install CD does not contain an ia64 folder. Instead I have an AMD64 folder. I also have tried booting from EFI menu (like it says) and I'm unable to do so because it says 'File not found'.

I did an extensive search through EVERY archive and file included in the XP64 cd and found several references to a file named 'nvrboot.efi'. However, the file itself... doesn't appear to exist.

So I'm wondering how I should go about doing this. I plan on installing Windows 8.1 Update 1, and Mac OS X 10.9.3 all on different hard drives. But since XP is the oldest of the three - from what I've read online, it needs to be the first one installed.

Can anyone advise me on the situation?

(On an unrelated note - does anyone know how to add Clover EFI (Best OSX loader out there) to the Windows 8 boot manager? At the moment, I have my EFI partition on a small SSD, so that might be my current problem - but I will be wiping everything off of my computer momentarily so... yeah...)

Also, is it a good idea to have the EFI partition on a separate hard disk? It works fine under windows 8.1, but I'm unable to access the awesome looking new Windows 8.1 boot manager (I believe) because of that fact. Is there anyone to get Windows 8.1 to install the EFI partition to another hard disk? Rather than moving the EFI files manually like I did with my current install?

Thanks everyone!! All support and advise is very much appreciated!

I am not sure what you are reading about XP and UEFI, but I can tell you the newer Windows 8 compatible systems need at least Windows 7 w/SP1. So I will say you will need to install XP as Legacy, which means a different hard drive than Windows 8. To be truthful, I would not really want to run XP on the same machine as Windows 8, but it can be done. Maybe running it in a Virtual situation would be better.

The AMD 64 is the correct version.

still here?
I'm also seeking a way to run windows xp on UEFI&GPT for a better performance of a game.
As far as I know the ia64 version image contains the needed EFI files that amd64 version won't give. So we may get ia64 iso image, but what we might get is a ia64 native EFI image that cannot run on x86-64 machine.

But why not try boot with bootmgr.efi or bootmgrfw.efi from newer version of windows? I think these files may be useful.

In addition, I think you can add clover directly to firmware boot list instead of bcd list, which is much easier.

and...a ESP on SSD wont offer any acceleration...for these files're not frequently used.

while in fact you can have a ia64 based PC if you like.Although it is RISC and expensive. It is somewhat a PPC.
