I had windows 8 single language(English) pre installed in my dell laptop. Recently I upgraded to windows 8.1 and also have probably installed the update 1(I don't see any update notification in windows updates). As I have a slow internet connection I wanted to make things a tad easier in the future, in case I have to refresh my laptop. After windows had downloaded the update and applied the changes I did the following -
1. Windows prompted me to restart and I clicked restart later.
2. I immediately browsed to C:/ and copied the $Windows.~BT folder(hidden) to one of my drives.
Now, how do I make a windows 8 to windows 8.1 upgradable DVD with the contents of the folder and what will the DVD be actually called? I haven't really messed with the folder contents except changing the folder attribute to "NON-HIDDEN".
P.S : I really have a pint-sized knowledge of these things so please bear with me. Thanks.

I would actually recommend cloning your drive as a backup instead. Less messy. Or do a non-generalize image capture using sysprep and DISM to capture the image.

I don't want to create a system image now because my laptop is already responding slow, don't know whether it is due to virus or something else. Btw is it even possible to create such a dvd?

The folder you are talking about is similar to the windows.old folder containing temp files and are subject to automatic deletion in 28 days.

Retrieve files from the Windows.old folder - Microsoft Windows Help

I don't believe you can transfer these files to DVD.

Your best option, most secure and easiest restore function I may add, is to create an image backup of your entire drive using a program like Macrium Reflect (Free). With this program you can also just backup your data if you wish.
