In order to extend it, the 100GB has to be adjacent to the C: Drive, You have 350MB Recovery partition in between them.

I See but, I can NOT Remove that since it part of recovery, and When i shrinked it i did not know

Why on earth is this so complicated? Why does it need to be together?

Is there anything else i could do? Thank You :D

good ol MS

Hi Mark,
My guess,
OEM installed W8 >> created 100GB partition >> upgraded to 8.1, yes.

That 350MB partition was created by the 8.1 install how .... stupid, stick it in the middle great idea,
especially as its a recovery!!!. IT put it between my C & D drives:mad:, gonna have todo a factory reset myself at some stage when i run outta space, my C is smaller than D

if my assumption is right the only way i can see you setting it up as you want it is to Factory reset,
which takes you back to W8, and resets all the partitions.
DONT forget to backup your data first

Why does it need to be together?
Because a partition is "contiguous" space -- meaning, no breaks or gaps in the space.

Haha, Yeah :) But why no to the right hand side?

Hi there
Download and create a bootable USB of GPARTED.

Now move / re-arrange / re-size partitions at will.

In case of moving system / boot partition you don't get a proper boot - simply install W8 recovery / install disk and select repair windows to re-write the boot info on the newly moved partition --should work.

GParted -- A free application for graphically managing disk device partitions

My preference in any case would be to backup the recovery partition (use free macrium or whatever) and then DELETE it -- now you've got all that extra free space available as a contiguous partition.

Keep though OS and data separate. If you have to re-install the OS you don't lose your data.

Cheers

Exaclty!!! Why put it in the Middle!!!
They put it in the middle because, as you probably know, Windows is limited in the type of partition manipulation it can do. So they did the two things they could do and those were to shrink one partition and create a new one. They chose the C: partition because it is normally a constant in the Windows configuration.

Third party partitioning software has more abilities and can move partitions. It is always dangerous and I suggest you do not use EaseUS until they have repaired their problem.
