Windows 8 CP install failure - stuck on fish

I tried to intsall Windows 8 CP on my new PC which was already running Windows 7 Ultimate. The installation was going fine until it rebooted and showed the fish and bubbles screen and then got stuck. I have tried reinstalling, both using the online install as well as the ISO install procedures with the same results.

Can anyone help?

I am trying to :)
For now I am basically using Windows 7 but, if I could get Windows 8 to work, I would probably just cross over and use that exclusively. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Saksy,
Do you get any messages? normally the Fish and bubbles show for some time while installing the files from the disk to your hard drive(without any messages).

Make sure your computer meets minimum specs, allocate at least 25Gb of space for Windows 8 CP edition.

try reinstalling and watch for glitches or messages, perhaps it will work the second attempt at an install.

Hi Brummyfan. Unfortunately I didn't get any messages - just the fish and the bubbles for several hours until I decided to give up and reboot.

I am getting the exact same thing, i have tried installing from windows 7 and also booting from dvd and USB.
All i get is the fish and the dots moving in a circle. One time the dots did freeze and then nothing changed for about 40mins so i rebooted.
I'm running Athlon x4 640, 4gb ram, and have 500+ gb free hdd.

Try burning another disk at a lower speed and see whether it helps.

I'm downloading the whole thing again and starting from scratch.
Can you install this from a clean partition or do you need Win 7 to install it from?

OK, so i re-downleaded Win 8, installed from the download screen ie no ISO burning, left it running and came back to find a blue screen "YOUR COMPUTER RAN INTO A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO RESTART" search online for "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION".

I have had a look at a few sites but nothing that tells me what is going from and how to fix it.

Download the iso again, but extract it using say 7-zip first before running the setup. I was amazed how long the install took, some 50mins before done. I think it took that long for me because it install over existing OS AND i choose to keep all settings preferrences.
