Sorry, can't browse well from my phone at work does this file exist anywhere? I have an 8 upgraded to 8.1 but caused all kinds of issues with registries and such. I want to reformat and clean install 8.1 SP1 if possible when I get home.

You won't get MSDN for $200, you must be thinking of the old TechNet. About $700-800 is your cheapest MSDN option.

Why won't Microsoft issue an ISO for Windows 8.1 Update 1 for those of us who have keys and DVD's for Windows 8? It's not as if we don't already have Windows 8.1 Update 1 installed - they wouldn't be losing a single $ by releasing one.

The upgrade to 8.1 screwed my registry and drivers. Now games minimize on launch and just run into the background and I'm unable to click into them...

The best thing you can do is download a MSDN image ISO of Windows 8.1 Update from torrent client... the only problem is, I can't provide you with the links because it is illegal to do so, and I don't wanna be banned from this community for that reason. If you have a valid product key, you can download the ISO file, burn it and install it with the same key to avoid problems with Microsoft. I know exactly where those files are, but (like I said) I don't wanna be banned for that... :-/

You can not use the key extracted from the UEFI/BIOS firmware or a OEM key to download the Windows 8.1 ISO, you can only use the key to ACTIVATE.

The generic keys can only be used to install Windows 8.1 & not ACTIVATE or to download the Windows 8.1 ISO .
