Windows 8 dual boot installed, Windows 8 won't boot up. Black Screen!

Hey guys, I am having an issue when installing the consumer preview. So, I downloaded the W8 iso, off of Microsoft's site. I burned it to a DVD with 4.7 GB free of storage. I even bought a new set of DVDs. Anyways, I downloaded the iso, I downloaded the USB/DVD download tool, there I burned my iso to the DVD. So, I then create a partition on my computer (I gave the new partition 200 GB of storage). I rebooted my computer, pressed F12 and access the burned DVD. So, I click custom installation, and I install the new OS, onto the partition with 200 GB. I named it the partition Windows 8, so I wouldn't get confused. I clicked it, and installed Windows 8 onto it. Anyways, once it extracts the data and installs all the updates, my computer screen goes black, for a few seconds. Then, it load's the fish icon, and then goes black. It loads nothing, and it just stays there. I have tried using the startup repair, and it cannot fix it. I decided to reinstall the OS, but format the partition, and then install...It does the same. exact. thing.

Anyways, how do I get rid of the black screen? Windows 8 won't boot up. : (

(I allowed a dual boot, by the way, so I still have windows 7, but I really want to try Windows 8.)
I followed this guide if anyone was wondering.

I'm having similar issues with Vista and W8. I put W8 on an empty and freshly created partition.
I can get W8 to run but then on every restart or reboot I can not get back to Vista from the "blue dual boot screen". I select Vista as the OS, the laptop goes to the Acer splash screen and then the screen goes black and the HDD light goes off completely. And that's it. Have to do a forced shutdown holding power button and then on next reboot it will go to Vista.

Fortunately I have full Acronis disk images so I can just revert back to before all this but like you I really want to try W8.

So you get to the Windows 8 boot loader, and you can choose either Windows 7 or 8? and When you choose 8 that's when the black screen happens?

I had a similar issue, although when I booted windows 8 it at least gave me an error saying the installation failed and needed to reboot my computer. Mine crashed just after it reached 100% on the 'Getting Devices Ready' part of the installation. Did you make it past this?

Out of interest are you using a laptop?

Yes, I am on a laptop. And I don't have the option to choose another operating system unless I load my W8 DVD and click, "repair" and then load another OS. If I don't spam F12, it just automatically picks W8. I tried connecting my laptop through HDMY, to my TV, and I got the BSOD. I got it with the error code: 0xc0000001

If your Win7 is still operational, make a full snip of your Disk Management and post it.

That looks like a Dell. But there is no Windows 8 installed. There are 14GB in your E: partition which could be Win8 (the size is about right). But it is not recognized as an OS. Suggest you install again.

I've reinstalled many times before. Should I re-download the iso and burn it to another disk? I probably got a corrupted download...

That is a possibility. Hard to tell from here. I downloaded mine from here. It shows also a hash. You can check that: Windows 7 ISO Verifier, for your downloading pleasure istartedsomething

For burning the DVD I always use ImgBurn which always worked: Download ImgBurn 2.5.6.0 - FileHippo.com

I don't know if that will help. Whatever is doing this seems a common issue (unless there is one really bad iso getting around). I had the same error code mate. I wonder if the issue is related to laptop users? People have had mixed success with using external monitors (I've tried that as well with no luck).
