Windows 8 CP ISO install error... cant locate file...

Ok I downloaded each time directly from M$ the CP download iso format. I have tried it on two san disk drives and one pny drive and one dvd -r disk. I made each with the windows 7 dvd/usb tool downloaded directly from microsoft. The usb or the dvd boots and then i start the install it goes and starts copying the files and then at some point it errors out saying that a file can not be found.

Now i would like to duel boot with Win 7 (HP or Pro) and Windows 8 CP on my HP g7-1365dx from best buy. The only way that i can get it to work is by downloading the Windows 8 CP Tool and do it as an upgrade. So how can i duel boot? I had no issues with the developers preview and duel booting with win 8 developers preview.

Download WinRAR trial, associate .iso files during install. Open the .iso with WinRAR, go in the Sources folder and double clik setup.exe...that simple...

The issue is when i am trying to boot off the dvd or the usb thumb drive. they boot it goes to install it starts to copy and while it copying the files over it fails at some point. I tried the windows 8 cp tool to install to another partition but it only wants to save the iso. i save it then burn to dvd / thumb drive and well same issue.

tried it with setup.exe but that is only the upgrade method that works. i want to be able to duel boot.

ISO error code: 0x80070241 when installing via dvd or thumb drive

ISO error code: 0x80070241 when installing via dvd or thumb drive
I also get the error if i extract the iso x64 version of win 8 cp and go to the sources directory and run as admin the setup.exe file. The only way so far i can get it to install is by running the windows 8 cp tool and only as an upgrade otherwise i get the error code... I want to be able to duel boot with win 7 and win 8 cp.

I did use the win 8 developers preview before as an iso clean install from thumb drive and it worked just fine... man they changed something.... i even disabled wifi and still nothing... I have an hp g7-1365dx with 8gb of ram and a 750gb sata drive. I nuked the orginal install from hp of win 7 x64 h.p. and installed win 7 pro x64 and even if use restore cd and delete the hp tools and recovery partitions then it still only works as an upgrade....Click image for larger version

Confirm the ISO or download another, then burn to DVD using ImgBurn or write to flash stick using Universal USB Installer.

The troubles have to do with bios settings. I forget now since it's been a long time, but during 7 beta, I helped lots of users with this issue.

At the point it fails, the installer *thinks* it was installing from someplace else.

Best bet is to try again from the USB key installer while detaching all devices, hard drives, peripherals etc....everything not needed to simply get to desktop as the most basic system.

Once installed, power off, hook everything back up. Power on. Install drivers from manufacturers' sites.

    Hi there
Often the SIMPLEST solution can be the correct one.

I've seen this happen before -- this is a possible reason
(First we have to assume you've created the boot USB correctly -- assume this is true or "all bets are off").

After Windows has done the ist piece --copying Files -- it reboots -before it does the expanding files.

UNPLUG THE USB BEFORE THE RE-BOOT.

    So again

    1) at installation time boot from the USB
    2) When the computer starts to boot again UNPLUG THE USB..

    Cheers

i get the error before the first reboot. I happens while it is copying the files over and before the 1st reboot. So far the only way for me to get windows 8 consumer preview installed is to download the windows 8 consumer preview tool and do it as an upgrade otherwise it will not install and i get that error. I want to duel boot so right now i went back to windows 7 pro x64. This seems odd that the previous beta the Developers preview did not have the error that i am getting now... thanks alot M$. At times like this i wish apple would just release OS/X for all computer that are amd/intel as well they now use the same intel cpus.... and we know it works on them thanks to pystar and others...
