Cant boot windows 8

After a virus that prevented the installation of virus programs, and a lot of help from people on the malwarebytes forum the only option seemed to be to do a reinstall.

I have windows 8 on a 120 Gb SSD and my data on a 1Tb HD.

After reinstalling I cant get windows to boot it goes into a diagnostic mode and repair then comes up with error 0xc000021c.

I have tried reinstalling windows 3 times and still end up here.

Can anyone help please?

data being in external hdd does not affect installation.you need to connect it only when saving the data
the 2 drivers may be conflicting. try removing the external drive during boot up
it may help.
