upgraded to windows 8.1, how to delete windows VISTA?

I have a windows 8 partition and vista partition. I want to uninstall VISTA, how do I do this? Do I set windows 8 as my active partition and just delete VISTA partition under disk management?

Post a screen capture of a full screen Disk Management first please.

To open Disk Management, press Windows key+r, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter or click GO. Make it full screen.

How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista - Vista Forums (says it's for Vista but also works with Win 7/8).

Once you have the image saved, start a new reply, click on Go Advanced.
Click on the Paperclip Icon next to the Smiley Icon.
In the Manage Attachments window, click Browse and navigate to where you saved the image and select it.
    Click the Upload button.
    Close the Manage Attachments window.
Click on the Paperclip Icon again and select the image you uploaded. It will be placed in your post.

You didn't follow directions. Make it full screen and do it again please. I can't see Disk 1 info.

Okay, sorry. Looked like there was a Disk 1 hidden at the bottom of the picture.

    From the picture,

Windows 8 is on C: and is the Active partition and has the boot on it.
    Vista is on D:.

You should be okay to delete D: then merge it into C: if you want more space there, or even merge part of it.

thx for the reply. ok so i deleted the D drive and it became a unallocated space. There was no option for me to extend the volume on the windows 8 drive. I tried making a new volume out of the unallocated space but there was still no option to extend the volume. How do i fix this/

Download Minitool Partition Wizard and use it to handle the disk sizing.

I know this is solved but to avoid this again format (be sure to boot from the disk) the boot drive and install from there.

Just a curious thought, and I am unsure if it is possible, but has anyone had an installation of Windows Xp and Upgraded to Vista, then 7, then 8, and finally 8.1? Or is that not even possible. I am assuming not as the hardware has changed a bunch from 2001 to 2014 (Now).
