Hi there
There's very little difference between Enterprise and PRO -- main differences are in some corporate set up and networking stuff -- and also being able to have multiple languages. Windows to Go (portable windows) is also available on Enterprise -- but I've got a thread about creating Portable windows systems (any version) on this Forum

http://www.eightforums.com/installa...make-portable-windows-system-any-version.html

There's also some encryption - Bitlocker - but sometimes that's more of a hindrance than a help - especially if your computer is a Home or a Testing type of machine.

Unless you have access to TechNet / MSDN I wouldn't bother with changing to Enterprise from PRO.

Resources are about the same in either case - what you RUN on the system is the issue these days with Windows -- the OS itself is reasonably efficient in normal circumstances -- such as enough RAM etc.

Cheers
jimbo

yes I use it and it works just fine,
visually I see no difference, technical differences already mentioned by jimbo45.
and perhaps a www.google.com search will give you quick results in what you are looking for [check this good luck ].Compare Windows 8.1 editions

I'm curious as to what your reasons are to upgrade to the Enterprise version. It's not for sale to consumers anyway. I work for a computer software company and we have access to both versions and I've used them extensively. Therefore, I'm curious to see what additional features you are interested in and why.

calm down your curiousness pparks1 there wont be reasons for everything you ask i wish to evaluate enterprise version thats my will. And i certainly know that its not for sale but i think you are mature enough to know that there is something called MSDN and technet subscriptions and please note i haven't asked about additional features i just inquired about any problems associated and technical difference b/w pro and enterprise so before questioning someone please read the thread carefully. if you have any good response to my question thread you are most welcome to answer it!!

I can't answer your questions exactly except to say I ran the evaluation version of enterprise and it behaved exactly the same as 8.1 pro in terms of performance (I only tried it for the functional differences i.e. Windows to Go). I didn't do any benchmarks though - it just seemed the same.

Bitlocker is available on both Pro and enterprise and is optional on both. I use it as I carry my laptop a lot and wouldn't want my data to be visible when I inevitably leave it in a taxi or whatever. According to Microsoft "Generally it imposes a single-digit percentage performance overhead" BitLocker Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) You don't have to turn it on if you don't want to.

Enterprise version was completely stable (I got it from technet). My guess is technically they are identical but certain features are turned on or off - it would be pointless to maintain 2 versions.

There is a free evaluation copy of enterprise, so testing it out is no problem. I understand there is MSDN and TechNet. I have a visual studio premium MSDN subscription.

There are no technical differences that would cause anybody any issues.

So, I'd just suggest installing the eval into a virtual machine and check it out.

Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers, just find people who believe there are substantial differences in enterprise that make it advantageous to use over what they have, and end up disappointed with their efforts or costs to obtain the product.
