I read on this article you can boot windows 8 and windows 8.1 on the same machine. Someone in the comments said it is not possible to run two versions of 8.1 but I would like to find out how to make it possible. However, would like to install 8.1 twice with 2 different versions. Why because virtual is not good enough performance. Adding additional software always slows down the computer. THere are numerous other reasons but this is why.

It's possible, I've done it.

Should be doable if your partition structure is set up correctly. If you install the second version to its own partition it should setup a dual boot for you. I'd be surprised if somebody here hasn't already done it.

It's very do-able if you have more than one product key or you don't mind one version being non-activated.
