Want to REbuild Win8-Do I need Win7 1st

Hi,
When Win8 came out I purchased the upgrade disk (as I was running Win7) and installed with no problems.Now,15 months later I want to rebuild the system to clear out assorted crap you acquire over time.In the past it was easy as I had never 'upgraded' mearly installed new.
So,can I just initialise my system disk and install Win8 direct or do I have to first install Win7?

I've a feeling I know the answer but the bright people on here will know for definite.

Maybe u can do a system reset ;) it will do a clean thing on ur pc

Thanks for the suggestion but it is more all the install/un-installs that you do over time that I find only a clean system can over-come.

You can do a clean install, but you need to delete the Windows 7 ( Win XP, Vista) install.

Thanks,but as I said in my original question,I was going to initialise my System Disk.
