No reason to use amohani's files or "L" BIOS anymore, but glad you got it going.

Press DEL, F2, F10 or F12 repeatedly as you boot to access the BIOS again. Then there is a setting to show the BIOS splash screen you can change if you want.

You may also want to install the later drivers I posted above.

Thank you. I got it working properly again. I downloaded official BIOS from Acer and everything seems to be working fine so far. Thank you for answering.

Yes thanks mdavej for pointing out the win 7 drives now at Acer

About getting into BIOS, i use a wireless keyboard but can not get into BIOS with that keyboard, i have to switch back to a USB keyboard to get into BIOS. Even though the keyboard works at boot up/login it is not working during the required time need to get into BIOS.

I guess it depends on the hardware because I have only used a wireless keyboard (logitech) and never even unpacked the wired one. I never had any problems.

That is what i have a Logitech K400r, all i know is i have tried many time with the wireless and it never got into the BIOS but if i connect the USB it works the first time i try it. The wireless dose work for press any key to continue on a CD boot and at login but not during the 8 seconds you have to press the key to get into BIOS.

I have the exact same keyboard K400R, and I have no problem using the keyboard going in to BIOS. (Acer Aspire XC-603). Mine works.

Well that is interesting. I will have to try some things i guess. On this PC i am running the A4L BIOS and using the front USB port. I also am using the driver found in one of the posts from this thread on the first few pages i thing. So maybe it is the BIOS or a setting in the BIOS, or the driver. I have newer drivers and the latest BIOS maybe that would get it working. I hate to do anything as all is working so good as a HTPC. I have not even ran windows updates for about 5 months now just because it works so good as my main HTPC.

Well I am using a 2.0 USB port on the back, and mine worked with the stock BIOS. I have now updated the BIOS to P11-B2 and it still works. I never installed or updated any drivers for this keyboard. It just worked right away. But the drivers shouldn't make any difference as the driver doesn't load at BIOS. The driver is for Windows, and that loads after BIOS.

    Windows 8.1

I've tried to follow the above steps and have gotten stuck. I have an Aspire AXC603G-UW13. Manufactured 2015/01/06. I was able to load Rafaela with no problems, other than Linux didn't like some of my 3rd party software. I was able to restore 8.1 after buying the official 46dollar Acer restore usb.
I have a Wiindows 7 Pro disk with COA and code key I have downloaded Acer BIOS_Acer_P11.B2_A_A and have loaded it to a USB drive. I followed the instructions DOS Flash Utility SOP and therein lies the problem. First off, I have seldom been able to get to BIOS set up after power off, only restart seems to work. When I first followed the steps I was able to get an "F12" prompt, it no longer appears. I do get the "Delete" prompt and it operates, The second thing is I never did get to the "Launch CSM" screen. My boot options menu starts with "Boot Priority Order". Any assistance will be appreciated.

First i think it was stated in this thread that you could make the restore disk for Win 8.1 before you tried changing the OS. So that would have saved you 46 bucks. Next if you have loaded Win 8.1 back onto the PC then you can change the Firmware in windows with the windows version of that firmware now that an official win 7 firmware has been released. So there should be no reason to have to use the DOS flash. Once you get the BIOS firmware changed you can them get the "Launch CSM" screen.
