I cannot dual boot Windows 8.1 with any Linux distro

    Hello, Luffy here.

As you've probably noticed, i'm new and i need help.
I really want to dual boot Win8.1 with Kali Linux. ~ 64 bit.

I'm having a lot of doubts about it. A lot of people write that their Win8.1 system got, excuse my language, ****ed up. They say it's because of OEM/UEFI & so forth.

I'm unfortunately not so experienced with dual booting so i wouldn't really know what to do. Could anyone please help me clarify all of this? What's the problem with Win8.1 & Linux, what do i need to do in order to install it succesfully without errors?

    Thanks in advance to everyone.

Another, easier option is to run it in virtual. Install VMware Player in Linux. Then it will run like this (with the exception that Linux would be the host).

or go the other way round and install hyper-v in windows:

    Bring up an administrative powershell

    Enter:

    Install-WindowsFeature Hyper-v –IncludeManagementTools -Restart

*PLEASE NOTE: HYPER-V REQUIRES A RESTART
    *

    From there read through this:

Hyper-V – Create Linux Virtual Machine in Windows 8

This will negate the issue of having to dual boot.

    Cheers,

    paste from another tutorial ,

To create a Hyper-V client, you must have a 64-bit version of Windows 8 Pro or Windows 8 Enterprise with a 64-bit CPU that supports SLAT (Second Level Address Translation). You’ll also need at least 4GB of RAM. Hyper-V does support creation of both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems in the VMs.
