No Windows 8 (CP) bootloader after install

    Hey all,

I just installed Windows 8 CP on primary hard drive, which consists of 2 partitions. One for W7 and one for W8. However, I'm not able to boot into W8 since I don't get the W8 bootloader at startup, though the installation went fine.

What to do? Already tried reinstalling.

    EasyBCD 2.1

Just add an entry to the correct W8 partition... but you will have the old (W7) boot loader style.

Hmm.. I made a new entry for partition G:, where my Win8 is installed, but I could only select ''Type: Windows Vista/7''.

When trying to select it from the bootloader, I got this: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.

    I used EasyBCD 2.1.2

I have the same issue. I've installed Win8 multiple times now on a new partition on my main drive. The partition is about 25gb in size and a healthy primary partition. According to the disk management program in windows, my boot partition is still my main C drive.

Installation goes fine and then the system reboots, only to bring me back to Windows 7. I don't know how to boot from my new win8 partition without messing anything up

I thought I was the only one!

I still have Win8 sitting on my secondary partition, waiting for it to be used... Please help us out here!

    Maybe "Dual-boot Repair" can help.
The utility comes with Visual BCD Editor - Windows 7/Vista.

Start Dual-boot Repair and click on "Automatic Repair". This will install the latest bootmgr (Windows 8) and make the system boot by default to latest OS (Windows 8).

Adding missing loader entries for booting installed Windows OS's is also automated (no parameters, drive letters or whatever to specify) - run Visual BCD Editor, right click in tree view and select "Create missing Windows loaders".

Enter in EasyBCD, add the Win 8 entry (as Vista/7) then repair boot files. This must give you a old boot style with Windows 7 / 8.

    ~edit~

after repairing boot files and if you're using Daz Loader for 7 you will need to run it again.

BAM! Worked like a charm. This program is compatible with Win8, recognizes the problem and fixes it! Thanks a bunch .
