    Migrate from SSD to SSHD?

Hi, I have an issue that I couldn't find anywhere on the forums. I recently received an SSD for christmas (32GB). I previously had Windows 8.1 installed on my other drive, a 2TB SSHD, but then re-installed W8 to my SSD, and kept my personal data on the SSHD. Now I read online that any SSD under 64GB should be used for cache'ing my SSHD, rather than using it for storage. Would it even be useful to re-install W8 onto the SSHD again, then transfer all my stuff? I'm slowly running out of space, even though I install all programs to my SSHD.

Is there any way I can clone the SSD to the SSHD, including the cache to the hidden solid-state part of the SSHD?

If so, are there any special precautions I have to take?

    Thanks,
    Gage

Anyone have any idea what to do? I don't want to mess up the boot sector like I did last time trying to migrate from HDD to SSD.

That would be a bad deal. Just keep the OS on the SSD. Moving it to the SSHD with SSD caching would slow it down.

I think what you read is not to use the SSD for data. That makes sense, but the OS is not data.

I feel like I didn't notice a speed increase from the SSHD to the SSD. And also because I'm running out of room on the SSD. It's only 32Gb and I'm down to 5Gb, after installing programs that cannot be installed to the SSHD.

1 final reason: All my friends load into Battlefield 4 within about 15 seconds, I take about 2 minutes, and by that time most of the match is over :/

Well, then try it. It may yield something for the games, but I doubt it does better for the OS.

I'm just afraid I'm going to mess up the boot sector, or something where neither operating system works. This happened last time, and then I had to reinstall everything.

Why not giving it a try? There are many applications nowadays to rely on when it comes to cloning.I personally use AOMEI Backupper and Macriums cloning feature and have not failed once.Create a small, lets say 70GB partition on your 2TB disk, clone your SSD to it,mark as active and boot from it(either via BIOS or startup selection, might be F11 key)see what happens,Would not harm your primary boot disk by any means.

This is true. I'll try that now, thanks.

Well something went wrong. After doing the transfer using Clonezilla, I tried to diskpart > select disk 0 (my SSD) > clean.
THIS WAS NOT SMART. Computer then shut down on me, like programs 1 by 1 would crash, then the system just stopped. I have since then, discovered that the SSD has the boot sector which starts my W8 installation, even from another disk. Now I just use a flash drive to boot to my OS, now to do the commands to fix my boot

tl;dr thought I had finished the transfer, done f***ed up mah pc.

Sorry to hear that, you should boot from the SSHD,make sure it worked, and then clean your SSD up.NOT smart indeed. No backup ?
