Dual booting windows 7 with 8.1.
I had that neat looking boot screen that came up giving me a choice and setting default.:D

Now it boots to a crummy looking F8 type screen every time and I have to make a choice.:(

Not a big deal but I'd like to fix it.

Pete

Got it back

Hi Shawn,
I'm embarrassed.
I had Windows 7 as the default OS in the Advanced System Settings.
All is good.
Thanks again for all help you give.
Pete

Na, don't be embarrassed. It happens to all of us. I'm just happy to hear that you got it sorted. :)

I believe that's the same as using the Advanced System Settings.
I'm still a novice at using command line arguments even after 15 years. And probably will continue to be a novice.

Running "bcdboot c:\windows" from a elevated prompt I didn't need to find any identifier number and it still worked.
