Solved Want to upgrade W7 32 to W8 64 desktop, Have W8 64 laptop

HI.

I read about how to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit with clean install. I have a 32bit win7 on my desktop and a 64 bit w8.1 on my laptop.

My question is can I use the w8.1 laptop do download the upgrade assistant and get win8 64 bit? I don't want to screw up my laptop especially cause it has an OEM W8 that I have no idea how to reinstall in case of OS breakdown.

2, In case this is not possible, is there any way to get a 64 bit w8 upgrade downloaded without another 64 bit os already installed?

When you buy Windows 8/8.1 online, you also order back up DVD's.

I think there is a dvd and a download type you can buy. I don't know if they will send me any backup dvd copies especially to Hungary if I buy a download type Win8 pro upgrade.

My question is: If my laptop already has a 64bit windows 8, is there some way to download windows 8 upgrade on that laptop? Get the files downloaded on my hard drive? I tried to just download the upgrade assistant, but it just said I already have win8 and then wouldn't talk to me anymore. I'm afraid that if I buy it then it will just start with downloading the upgrade assistant again and it will again declare that I don't need an upgrade and quit. So if I buy the win8 upgrade in the store can I just download the files without it checking first what version OS i have?

You will need a Product Key to download the ISO.

It says I need a "OEM or Retail"product key. But I want to buy a win8 pro upgrade version. Are the product keys the same/interchangeable?

Windows 8 pro upgrade version is a Retail version.
