UEFI Install - Not getting the 4 partitions

Hi, I'm following this guide and using the UEFI install instructions from this forum. I do meet all of the requirements (Windows 8 64-bit iso, ASRock Z87 Extreme4 mobo, blank SSD).
When I get to Step 7 in the UEFI guide, I only get 2 partitions instead of the 4 shown(Recovery, System, MSR, Primary). I only get System and Primary.
I decided to delete all partitions and just run the setup on the unallocated drive...everything worked fine. I am just wondering what the consequences are of not having those 4 partitions. I still have the UEFI interface when I boot up so it appear that is working. Hopefully you guys can shed some light on this.
    Thanks.

Are you booting the DVD in UEFI mode?

ohh. That might be it. I'll check when I get home tonight.
Even so, is it worth re-installing? What am I missing out on?

    Thanks by the way.

Well it looks like that was probably the issue. But like I said, I'm not sure why I should re-install since everything is working? Any advice out there?

your pc booted into legacy bios mode and windows was installed as such - if your computer supports UEFI you may want to disable legacy support in the firmware FIRST then run setup again

And yes you still have UEFI Interface, but setup did not take advantage of it - if it only created the system and primary partitions
