Windows 8 and windows xp on single pc

I want to install windows 8.

currently i am using windows xp on C Drive
I want to install Windows 8 or windows 8.1 on D Drive.

When i boot the pc will it prompt me to go to Windows xp or Windows 8

Please do guide me
