I have had a copy of windows 8 pro since it came out. loaded it on my 4 year old laptop and after a couple of weeks i decided i didn't like it. its been on the shelf every sense. I think i like what i see and read about windows 8.1 and would like to reload it up again.
My question: After loading it up again should i let all the upgrades run its course before i think about upgrading to windows 8.1
Thanks

NO need, you can install Windows 8.1 by downloading the ISO.

Take a look at those posts for more info.

Thanks theog for your quick response and help: Does the action create a fresh install? The last thing i would wont is to loose all my programs and settings. I like windows 7 OK but would like the latest technology and some of the new features that windows 8.1 would bring.
Thanks

You can upgrade or clean install with the DVD.
