Can't Reset, Can't install from image...can't,can't,can't.

Ok, been scouring the Web for a little over a month now. I am now sure I have recovery images. Factory, and refresh. Asus shipped no recovery media. I obtained a copy of windows 8. I found out what my product key is. I have attempted every which way i can think of to get my system to recognize my recovery images exist. If i try to use "reset your pc" option it tells me unable to reset your pc. A required drive partition is missing.
attempt.png
attemptfailed.png
If i choose system image recovery, hit cancel because it thinks the partition that definitely exists, doesn't, choose select a system image. Gives me a blank list. Choose Advanced...install a driver
sataworks.png(mind you don't need to install sata driver as it recognizes my hard drive and Is listing it to choose a driver from should need be) i get an error installation had failed.
loadingdriver.pngInternal error occurred (0x8007054F). No matter which driver IM trying to install. Usb, sata, dvd etc... So can't get my system image from my 32 gig stick, or my hdd.Image won't fit on dvd's. Worried i won't be able to do a clean install, as Asus's backups seem do reliable in mysituation(sarcasm) that i will lose all functionality like DVD playback, smart gesture touchpad, and some driver related setbacks.

I have checked and rechecked, and i have three system images to choose from.
image2.png

Total of six partitions.

Any one have any ideas? Will upload pictures after i reboot, needed to post this from cell, sorry for any typos. Thanks in advance for your help.

Can you get into safe mode ?

I can still do everything. Haven't wiped anything yet. Want to perform a reset. Not sure why I'd need to but I can get into safe mode, whats your suggestion?

I misunderstood.
Sorry.

I thought you were stuck on booting.

I thought you could get into recovery via rstrui.exe in CMD.

You want to reset to factory settings ?
Have you tried:
To access the hidden recovery partition of your Asus laptop:
  • At startup, press the F9 key.
  • Select the "Windows Setup (EMS enabled)
  • From there you can select the partition of your choice.

You could order the recovery disks from the maufacturer.

That's all I can think of. :(

To make ASUS Recovery disk download BACKTRACKER.

http://www.asus.com/supportonly/ASUS_Backtracker/#support_Download_36

ASUS said:
Using the Support DVD to restore system recovery.

About the Support DVD :
The Support DVD includes an image of the operating system, installed on your system at the factory.

You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the ASUS OEM manufacturer's website.
Essentio Recovery Software

K, found backtracker last night on a semi similar thread. F9 during post does absolutely nothing. Created factory restore usb, backed up asus drivers and apps, started the recovery. Ran through my sleep. Woke to windows 8 pro. Have no key for windows 8 pro. Only 8. Spent an hour this morning letting a Microsoft rep play around with logmein which failed to gain admin rights. After an got hour he deduced that the laptop came with eight and not eight pro. So i needed to buy a new key. But clean reset complete thank you both for your help. Any ideas on how i ended up with a windows pro recovery disk from backtracker, when it only had eight installed?

Just saw you manged to install/reinstall 8.1 using Reset from the dvd ?

Probably a good idea to make an image when you have updated your current system. You could try windows own imaging program
Windows system image is different from a custom refresh image and can be used to restore, but cannot be used to reset or refresh.

Even better to use a free 3rd party imaging program. The best freebie is Best Free Backup Software for Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP and Server 2003, 2008, 2012

I was trying to use RESET. It threw the error in the first post. At that point i decided i would try to install my custom image created by this laptop. But nothing would generate in the list. So i couldn't reset, or install a system image. Don't want 8.1. I confirmed that the recovery position existed, also that a custom refresh image existed, and a backup of the recovery partition was copied to a USB, in case i could figure out how to use usb instead of the partition.

Like i said, i found backtracker and created a Factory Recovery disk last night, got it reset, and then woke up to windows 8 pro. Backtracker somehow created an image of an operating system i don't own and they didn't sell me. Windows 8 was installed when i ran backtracker, not pro, just regular.

Just loading up my basics, and then off AOEMI. Thanks. Will this program provide a way to restore the image, prior to loading windows? Like a bootable USB or a Recovery DVD? ((In case I can't get into windows to run the program))

I just paid Microsoft and asus can shove it. Not trying to be rude to you, just dislike the customer service. And now I'll have a legit copy and key for windows 8 pro. And for some reason asus doesn't sell my recovery media in the US.
