Trouble installing 64bit program issue.

newcomer here. cool forum guys.

So I am trying to install Cubase 5 64bit on my lenovo laptop (windows 8)... not working out.

the 32 bit version installs flawlessly.

The 64 bit installs then can't open because windows claims it cannot locate the exe. application file... ??? Why!
Cannot find the application file anywhere.

I'd appreciate the help, this is really buggin me!

There is a TMP file of the same exact file size in the program file folder... i don't get it.

Is your Windows installation 32 bit or 64 bit? If it's 32 bit, that may be why Cubase 5 64 bit doesn't work. However, I'd be very surprised if you could even install any 64 bit program on a 32 bit Windows.

How's that for an oxymoron?

I once had the 64 bit version installed on this system, but the 64 bit program was causing issues for 32 bit plugins.. so I went with the 32 bit.. I now have a customized bridging app that allows me to run 32 bit plugins in a 64 bit program so I'm ready to go back with the 64 bit! What gives!

any more advice guys?
