Win 8 lockup while configuring drivers

New to forums so I apologize if this is off. Installed windows8 15 months ago. Hard drive hicuped and tried to restore with no luck. Tried to reset to an earlier install point with no luck. Reset drives and files through installer no luck. Went to command prompt and did format of drive and reinstalled locked up at the configuring drivers. Have all usb ports empty. Any ideas?

Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

Tried that. Drive shows no errors. Would creating a boot disk from another computer or a downloaded image work as a method to start the process?

Where do you buy your Windows 8 DVD from?

Comp usa. It is an oem.

You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.
