    windows 8 cannot boot - cannot run system recovery


    Hi,

    i attempted a dual boot of ubuntu and windows 8 yesterday, on a lenovo laptop. this is where ive come a cropper as i think ive installed grub into the windows partition - and thus now it cannot boot windows.

    i have a recovery disk, but i want lose my data on my windows 8 section.

    so i search in google and i found these tut :How can I repair the Windows 8 EFI Bootloader? - Super User

    but it's corrupt my recovery mode.

    How Can i restore what i done before and make my recovery work again ?

    Your best bet is to Restore the last System Image you made before installing Linux.

    For Windows system imaging boot the Repair disk.

    Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8
    System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8 (Windows 8 only)
    System Image Recovery - Restore Image on Computer in Windows 8


    For 3rd party Backup software, boot the Recovery disk & reimage.

    Did you install Ubuntu as Legacy or as UEFI? If it is UEFI, there should be a boot loader for each version of the OS that can be chosen from a Boot Device Menu or set as first priority in the bios.
