Solved Windows 8.1 Update

Hello,

When I started my laptop today it told me to go to the store for an update (Windows 8.1), but when I go to to store or any other app inside the start screen it doesn't show anything and shuts down after a few secs.
I have StartIsBack installed. I thought this might be the problem, but I tried to disable it and the problem persists...

Any advice? Thanks!

Thank you. I fixed that problem and am downloading the update right now... Fingers crossed! :)
The funny thing is tghat some time ago when everybody was updating (beta version I think) I downloaded the update too but it would not run on my laptop. Now Toshiba enabled the update (that's why I was asked if I wanted to update when I started the laptop), but the download started again from scratch... I think it might be because if I remember correctly it was beta back then, so obviously this is a bit different. But I wish I could locate that beta download because it takes up unnecessary space. Do you know where it could be? Thanks!

After you have finished updating to Windows 8.1, you could run Disk Cleanup to help cleanup any unneeded files.

Install Treesize Free. It will show you where your disk space is being used up. If the beta download is still around, it should be easy to spot.

Thanks... It is a relatively new laptop I bought for the Uni... I tried System Info, but it doesn't contain all info. Is there a program that lists all the info?

You might give the free Speccy program a try to see if it may be able to list them all for you. :)

We may be able to find you specs with the brand and model number of the laptop as well.

It is a Toshiba P840/015 laptop. I think I have all the latest drivers, but I will check. I thought I would be notified by the Toshiba utility if I need to update my drivers...

I just checked and it says I have the latest driver...
I had created a system restore point before upgrading... But it was wiped out, so I cannot even downgrade. I thought there would be a way to revert anyway... :cry:
Sorry for all the trouble. :(

PS: Apparently I am not the only one to have this problem... Hopefully NVIDIA will do something. Why Windows 8.1 Delivers

First, please double-check the error code. There are many variations of error 0xC1900101, each with a different location code -- the error extension, located after the dash.
