Linux on 7 but not 8

I have installed Linux Mint 13 as a dual boot on my Lenovo desktop but it doesn't seem to want to go on my Lenovo W8 laptop. Everything seems the same and I am using the Linux Windows installer. I run a W7 emulator (Start8) on the laptop so I don't have to deals with the tiles.

Can you give system specs? Also "it doesn't seem to want to go on" is a bit vague.

It won't install, it will even open to the dual boot option screen but it will not boot in Linux.

Windows 8 is installed in UEFI mode.

I am using the Linux Windows installer.
Will the Linux installer support UEFI mode.

I'm going to download the Mint 16 that is supposed to support UEFI mode. I know a good amount about earlier versions of Windows but UEFI is new stuff to me.

I was able to run Mint 16 live and then I tried to setup a dual boot but it now only boots to Linux and doesn't give me the Windows option. I did something wrong. I did however do a drive image using Lenovo one button backup and now I don't see how to restore the image without access to Windows. Please help.

Which boot manager are you using? Grub? If so you should be able to add OS to it from Linux. I'm assuming since Linux booted you disabled Secure Booting? Or no?

Edit: since you are on Linux now it may be simpler to go from that end. Don't panic. You have a usable system with net access. Try not to force a bad solution. Many Linux installs must be having similar issues. There's bound to be solutions from that side. When I was doing multi-boot it was always the Linux Howtos that had all the technical information and work-arounds. Now it's probably mostly in their forums where you'll find a good way through.
