Solved I can't find the windows 8.1 update

I am going round and round in circles on windows websites trying to find how to upgrade to 8,1 but none of the links actually do anything .

Normally pressing your Windows :winkey: should take you to the Start screen to then be able to open the Store.

Thanks found it, been downloading 8.1 for 45 mins and the blue bar has barely moved. Also it says 8.1 pro is that right?

When IO finally find the store, the only option there is to install 8.1 pro - that's surely a paid for app? Isn't there a free 8.1?

If you have the proper ms update, the 8.1 update should be the very first thing you see in the store.

It's a particular MS update that brings this up, I can't remember the number but it says in the installer package

If you have Windows 8 Pro installed, then it would give you a update to 8.1 Pro in the Store for the same edition.

Click on "Get the free update now" link at the bottom of the page.

The Windows Store will open with the 8.1 free upgrade:

Yes , I click on it and nothing happens

Tried again in Firefox and get a link to download 8.1 pro
