I have a dual boot (Windows 7 & 8 on separate hard drives) system that is performing flawlessly. I'm considering doing the free 8.1 update (updating Windows 8), but concerned that it might mess up my current beautiful dual boot configuration.

Any info or suggestions will be appreciated!

That back-up 2x means imaging both your windows systems and their dependent boot and data files.

(However, I upgraded from 8 to 8.1 on a triple (7, 8 and Linux Mint (wubi installation)) booting system without problems.

The Windows 8.1 store upgrade was trouble free, even if it took all night to complete.

Well, backup is a given. Just wondering if others have had problems with this update on dual boot systems.

I'm dual booting windows 7/8 Pro....and I did the upgrade to 8.1 Pro via the store and no problems to report. My upgrade took 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete....over a wireless network...not to bad.
