Upgrade from 7 to 8 Multi user?

I want to upgrade my Windows 7 home premium to windows 8 pro, but I have multiple user accounts on this PC. Will it keep all files, settings and applications for all users? Apologies if this question has already been asked, but I couldn't find any thanks

Edit: for the upgrade I will be using the Windows 8 Pro .iso file from the MSDN

Just curious. Do you have a valid 8.0 Pro key?

I do. I saw that, but nowhere does anyone mention multiple user accounts on one pc and that's what's worrying me. I'd be installing through my Admin account, obviously, but will anything be lost from the other account? I ran the Upgrade adviser and it showed none of the software on the other user account, but i'm not sure if it's because it is an 8.1 adviser or because i will lose that UA altogether

    I do. I saw that
Ok, thanks for that clarification. I guess the only way you'll know for sure is if someone responds with the same circumstances and verifies that they have successfully completed the upgrade process as you described. Good luck to you.

I got no reply and I had to update quickly because of a project I am working on which needed 8.1, so I took my chances. it did, indeed, keep the user accounts and software despite the face that when I ran the compatibility test it showed none of the applications on the other user account.

Whenever you do any kind of upgrade you should always have a back of your important files. Of course you should have this anyway. All files of any importance need a backup copy while those of particular importance need 2 or more backup copies. Having no backups is asking for trouble.
