OK it looks like the one I thought was only Core is only Core.
    Attachment 29823

So what you get depends on what key you enter Core or Pro.

Yes, it will only give you one image and it will be the same bit version as the currently running os.

It is very annoying about what language it gives you as well.

I just wanted some confirmation of what I downloaded. Theog commented that there was no Core download which made me wonder what happens if you use a Core key. They aren't going to give you Pro, its useless with a Core key. They let me download something so it must have been only Core. I didn't want to install it to just find out which version it was. hxd did the trick so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The language isn't a problem for me but I can see where it would be for some, that is a shame, they don't make it easy do they. By they I mean Microsoft.

Utterly useless. So those of us who bought our computers or tablets with Windows 8 already installed and downloaded 8.1 from the Microsoft Store are completely screwed, right? Microsoft has basically given us the finger. Lovely.

I know it's not your problem, but it looks like MS is making it hard for the average person to keep his system maintained. If a system crashes, I don't see how a person can reinstall the OS without a whole lot of technical knowledge.
If you have a OEM manufacturer's PC, you can use the OEM manufacturer's Recovery disk.
Oh really? Tell me, how does that work when you have a Windows 8 TABLET? It came with no recovery media and apparently Microsoft could not be bothered to warn us that if we installed 8.1 from the store we would be screwed out of using the refresh and restore tools. Yes, I am angry. I'm having problems with my graphics driver, updating it did not help, and now I am SCREWED because I can't refresh or restore my OS because I installed 8.1 from the store.

This is after doing a clean install of 8.1 using the ISO.

O.K. I successfully downloaded the ISO.I might be a noob on this but can someone explain GA and RTM to me,what they mean, what differences are?Plus what are the consequences of a build number for future updates to Windows 8.1.ty It is a fact some were able to do a clean install too?
RTM stands for Release To Manufacture, most are running that as its been out for a while. The GA is General Availability, its a newer version that has the rollup package already in it. The GA has a latter build number as it was released latter. Anybody that is running the RTM got an ~200 MB update to add the updates included in GA. If your doing a clean install you want the newer GA release.
So then,How do you get this GA build of Windows 8.1?I followed mosharinos instructions, how do i know it's GA? I saw a number like the RTM in setup details? How do i check?

The GA build is what you get if you follow the instructions in the first post. The GA is what everybody is trying to get. The RTM is what is up on TechNet and what was leaked to the Internet.
