I dont know if you are asking my question; which is;-
I installed Windows 8.1 Beta and all my programs again. It runs fine most of the time; but a few quirks here and there which can be ironed out...
I have bought an Amazon copy of Windows 8 Pro and want to use the code in the box to legitimise? the current version of windows 8.1 (plus with any update it may require).
1) Will putting in a Windows 8 Pro code work (for it to auto-update to the latest version of Windows 8.1 via the Windows Update service); even though this is the Evaluation copy of Windows 8.1?
2) Will there be no problems? (Obviously there will).
3) Should I do it? OR wait any pay twice as much for a copy of Windows 8.1 with updates already on the disc and then have to spend another fifty to seventy hours getting my computer and programs (and files) back to normal with another full re-install?
NOTE; I only ever buy software with DVD discs. Always with a hard copy back-up for when pre-WW3 starts and the plug is pulled from the internet.
4) Or; will Windows 8.1 run out in a couple of weeks and force me to buy a copy on the internet only?
I say this (at `4)`) because I tried to pay for Windows 8.1 online from my System Properties window (Update online) and it told me generally, that, because I am abroad, (Japan) that I cannot buy windows 8.1 (At least not yet), not using the English language Microsoft Update service (or words to that effect).
5) Will that always be the case (because I can use the Windows 8 Pro DVD set I bought already for another PC I am re-building)?
I say this because `your question (TBolt)` seems `unusual`, to say the least (in that if you buy a copy of Windows 8.1 this/next month, then it seems obvious that you can do a fresh install if you like); or do you think that Windows 8.1 Evaluation will hi-jack your Motherboard/Chip Serial number code to prevent any other software being installed and run on your PC (including another copy of Windows)?
