New laptop - no COA sticker / Installation DVD

I got a new (well, refurbished) HP laptop (with Windows 8 64 bit) , and it came without the COA sticker with the activation number, and since it is OEM, without DVD.
Is it normal not to have the sticker?
Also, is there a tutorial on how to create OEM installation DVD, like there is on the Windows 7 Forums?

    Thanks!

HP Recovery Manager is a software program that offers a way to create recovery media after you
successfully set up the computer. HP Recovery media can be used to perform system recovery if the
hard drive becomes corrupted. System recovery reinstalls the original operating system and the
software programs installed at the factory, and then configures the settings for the programs. HP
Recovery media can also be used to customize the system or aid in the replacement of a hard drive.

Using HP Recovery media to recover

You can use HP Recovery media to recover the original system. This method can be used if your
system does not have an HP Recovery partition or if the hard drive is not working properly.
    1. If possible, back up all personal files.
    2. Insert the first HP Recovery disc you created into the optical drive on your computer or into an
optional external optical drive, and then restart the computer.

The Product code is embedded in the BIOS and read automatically by the install media during installation. If everything works the way its supposed too you won't be asked to enter it or need to even know what it is. That being said, there is no need to print it on a sticker. It's cheaper to just print up generic stickers so that's what they do.

Thanks, but I also heard that Windows 8 does not come with installation media as well, so you need to create your own media as shown in HP support.. why there is no media creation like in Windows 7 OEM?!

Windows 8 does things differently from Windows 7. You can create a recovery drive or media and copy the factory recovery partition to it. Then do a factory restore (Windows 8 reset) from that. Other than that you'll have to ask the OEM, Dell, HP, Acer, etc. Why there isn't a utility to create the factory recovery disk set. Some have it some don't.

Yea, Acer has a utility to do it to a USB flash drive. It worked using a USB HDD also. It does suck not being able to use DVD's though.
